About Us
Elevating the Voices of the Community
Our Mission
Manchester Community Action Coalition (MCAC) provides a safe space for the marginalized (Black, Brown, Indigenous, Immigrant, POC, Disability, LGBTQUIA+) community in NH to discuss, share, and discover needs within the community and co-create community-led solutions to advance racial justice with our most impacted community members.
This is critically needed as marginalized community members in NH do not have equal opportunity or representation in community and civic matters.
We aim to improve our lives as we organize ourselves to work together, create a unified agenda and solutions that promote the wellbeing, sense of belonging, dignity and justice for all.
We are committed to advocating, researching, referring, and taking action to directly address the concerns and issues currently affecting our community.
Our Vision
Our vision is that people of color across New Hampshire, specifically our BIPOC youth, will have equal opportunity and representation in community and civic matters.
Over time, we hope that communities of color will experience stronger community ties, children will be encouraged to achieve and succeed, and families of color will have equal social and economic opportunities.
We envision a city of Manchester with more diversity, and a welcoming community that fully integrates all residents and builds a strong social fabric.
Our Values
The Manchester Community Action Coalition (MCAC) employs a community-led framework focused on advancing racial justice by supporting and resourcing marginalized communities to design and implement their own solutions across various systems.

Engagement Across Systems

An expanded set of guiding principles also informs the work:
-
Creating and building alternate systems for community change work
-
Partnerships that help us all grow
-
Inclusive gracious spaces
-
Intergenerational supports for families and people
Authentic engagement that sustains a platform and emboldens community members to lead systemic change
Strategy for Change
The framework is rooted in the belief that people of color in New Hampshire often lack equal opportunity and are forced to use long-standing institutions and strategies.
Therefore:
It is critical for BIPOC community members to design and lead on solutions for themselves. Deep and intergenerational relationships are core to learning from the past and building new solutions.
The only way to create structural change is to support and resource communities to come together and implement solutions across systems, including education, healing, and environmental justice.
