MCAC operates as a shared community space where different programs can schedule and conduct their sessions.

 

The core function of our space is to strengthen relational working in an increasingly digital and transactional world.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • MCAC (Manchester Community Action Coalition) is a community-led space where residents come together to co-create solutions, build relationships, and support one another. It’s rooted in equity, healing, and collective action.

  • The space is for everyone, with a focus on those most impacted by systemic barriers. We especially center BIPOC communities, families, and individuals looking for connection, support, and a place to lead.

  • No. MCAC is not a transactional or rental space. Organizations and individuals participate as community members first, not as clients or renters.

  • You can use the space by:

    • Participating in community gatherings

    • Co-creating events or programs

    • Hosting conversations, workshops, or activities aligned with MCAC values

    All use of the space is relationship-based and collaborative.

  • Yes, with intention. We ask that organizations:

    • Show up as partners, not just facilitators

    • Engage with the community authentically

    • Align with MCAC’s mission of equity, healing, and shared power

  • MCAC operates on a community care model. This may include:

    • Sliding scale contributions

    • Donations

    • In-kind support (food, childcare, facilitation, etc.)

    We work to remove financial barriers whenever possible.

  • No. You can:

    • Drop into events

    • Join community conversations

    • Get involved at your own pace

    There is no “one way” to participate.

  • Events may include:

    • Community conversations & town halls

    • Healing and wellness workshops

    • Cultural gatherings & food-based events

    • Civic engagement and advocacy sessions

    • Youth and family programming

  • We support community members by:

    • Creating space for connection and healing

    • Providing access to resources and information

    • Offering childcare and food when possible

    • Supporting leadership development and community-led ideas

  • Yes! We aim to be family-friendly and often provide childcare support and youth-inclusive programming

  • You can:

    • Attend an event

    • Volunteer your skills
